Aberdeen woman charged with burning home

CARTHAGE - An Aberdeen woman is accused of deliberately burning the rental house where she lived on N.C. 211 in February, according to a release from the Moore County Sheriff's Office.

Sharon McMillian, 37, of the 10000 block of N.C. 211, was charged March 3 with second-degree arson and damage to personal property, the release said.

The house, which is just outside the Aberdeen city limits, was valued at $29,000 and owned by Lela McNair, according to Moore County tax records.

The house was declared a total loss, the release said.

McMillian's bail was set at $10,000.
