SwampDogs pitcher charged in vehicle break-in

A starting pitcher for the Fayetteville SwampDogs was arrested Monday after police say he broke into a vehicle.

Nathaniel Brian Cudney, 21, of the 5600 block of Robinhood Road in Charlotte, was charged Monday with breaking and entering a motor vehicle, misdemeanor larceny and possession of stolen property.

Arrests reports allege that Cudney had stolen a GPS unit out of a Ford Explorer in recent days.

Fayetteville police say the investigation is ongoing more charges may be forthcoming against Cudney.

Cudney, a native of Charlotte who graduated from Myers Park High School, is currently a sophomore at Belmont Abbey College.

He was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center Monday evening on a $5,000 bail.
